Artist Statement

As an artist who works with multiple disciplines, I create each piece with curiosity, searching for the emerging narrative and for the best mode to express it. These narratives often involve science fiction or fantasy elements, though not always.In an ideal world, I have the opportunity to use multiple mediums during the creation of a single piece in order to increase the immersion into the narrative I've created. On a conceptual level, I uses my creative practice to integrate the different facets of myself into a unified whole. I hope that my audience will come away from my work feeling that sense of unity for themselves.

Artist Biography

I am a multi-disciplinary artist living in Wyoming who uses various mediums and tools to explore a diverse array of subjects. I'm most often drawn to explorations of identity and unity of self in my works. For example, my charcoal still-life "Memories of Friendship" explores how memory shapes our sense of self in relation to the world and to other people.My most recent project that I'm excited about is a collection of small acrylic paintings depicting outer space scenes in a limited palette of pinks and blue-greens. I have a Bachelor's in English from the University of Central Missouri, with a minor in Creative Writing, and am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Art Studies from Arizona State University, with a minor in Animation.
